Founded over 20 years ago by John and Chrissie Jackson, Conservation Force has carried a singleness to be a force for conservation. Mr. Jackson is the world’s preeminent attorney on matters related to CITES, the Endangered Species Act, FWS seizures, and representing international and domestic hunters and the various challenges they may face. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson have been paramount in establishing and supporting countless conservation initiatives worldwide and funding critical surveys, studies, and programs. The Dallas Safari Club and Dallas Safari Club Foundation have been long-time supporters of Conservation Force. Our South Texas Chapter looks forwards to continually working with Conservation Force to further their irreplaceable efforts.
Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation
CSF has spearheaded US sportsmen’s interests since their inception and are celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2019. They support the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (the largest and most effective bi-partisan caucus in the US Congress; comprised of nearly 300 members from the House and Senate), the Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus, and the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses. The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation truly links sportsmen and women to Capitol Hill—their efforts supporting US sportsmen and women are irreplaceable. We are proud to support them and look forward to our continued partnership.
Cross Trail Outfitter
Each year, less and less children enter or are introduced to the outdoors. Therefore, DSC South Texas is proud to support Cross Trail Outfitters and their worthy mission to introduce children to the outdoors while sharing our faith. CTO provides year-round outdoor activities and opportunities primary to our 7–20-year-old youth. CTO seeks to establish and build relationship with youth, their families, landowners, volunteers, and donors. Our Chapter is very proud to support this organization.
Our Chapter supports cutting-edge, scientific research. Monitoring and surveying big cats is a challenging endeavor. Leopard, and other big cats alike, have to be monitored in order to establish scientifically sound and sustainable off-takes and export quotas. DSC South Texas supports an innovative leopard monitoring and survey program that significantly lowers the overhead and expense involved with monitoring this beautiful species. Spearheaded by world-renowned experts, Dr. Paul White and Dr. Arturo Caso, their research programs provides professional hunters the tools to set up scientifically based leopard monitoring programs in hunting areas without having to deploys teams of researchers into the areas.
